Coronavirus update

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to spread across the United States, Empire Livestock Marketing will continue to conduct regular sales at all market facilities; however, we have implemented changes to benefit the health and welfare of our customers and employees. These guidelines are to help stop the spread of any illness and include limiting attendance to registered buyers and employees, offering takeout only at our restaurants until further notice, cleaning and sanitizing all areas between sales, and emphasizing the need for safety and hygiene during each sale with attendees and employees. In addition, all small animal and miscellaneous sales (poultry, rabbits, produce, etc.) have been suspended until further notice. We appreciate your cooperation and continued support to help keep our auction markets open for the benefit of our agricultural community. 

Recently, there has been a misconception that cull cows should not be sent to market as there are not buyers attending sales and purchasing cattle. We still have buyers attending our sales and are seeing competitive pricing, especially on lean cows. Ground beef is still a sought after product in the marketplace and as a result we continue to see a market for your livestock.
